I feel like I can sort of relate to her in that I have gone through instances where I have hidden something that probably should have been exposed. I'm one of those people who hates making a big deal out of things, and I can understand Melinda's position and not wanting to speak out when she should. She is also a girl that tends to try and fly below the radar and avoid confrontation, which I can completely relate to.
Although my high school experience has been far from as challenging and difficult as Melinda's high school experience, I feel like I understand what she is going through. We are both freshman in high school, and like all other freshman, it is our first year of high school. We are all just trying to figure out where we stand and learn how to fit in.
Although my life has not had the same experiences as Melinda I feel that I can relate to her at times. We are both starting high school which can be challenges. Sometimes I am scared to tell people things, just like Melinda is.
I think that everyone can relate to Melinda because we are all in high school, and also what she is experiencing could happen to anyone. I know I can relate because I sometimes keep things inside when I would be better off talking about it.
Even though I haven't gone through the extent of what she has gone through, I feel like I have been pressured & picked on sometimes. In turn I can feel depressed and aloof, just like her. Ultimately I feel like I can relate to her.
